As part of his stay in Rome, from October 16 to 20, 2023, with a view to his participation in the World Food Forum, Mr. Alain-Richard Donwahi, president of COP15 desertification proceeded to a plea during his intervention during The closing ceremony of the Science and Technology forum of the World Food Forum. Several significant lessons deserve to be drawn from the discussions held during this forum which has factor the challenges of desertification:
First, without innovation, we will not be able to achieve it.
Secondly, there are today creative solutions that make it possible to deploy sustainable land management and regenerate natural ecosystems.
Third, the solutions are carried by communities, by young people, and innovators. These are the ones who best know the challenges they face and who want to change things.
Thus, the lanterns of the Global Food Forum has turned off on a huge note of hope because it was enriching and inspiring. It is in the union and synergy of the forces, increased confidence in youth, with the bias of innovation, that we will manage to effectively fight against desertification and food insecurity.
